Championship Central
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – For the next four days, the Purple Aces women's swimming and diving team will be participating in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Iowa City, Iowa.

Preliminary sessions will begin at 11 a.m. Central Time on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with finals sessions taking place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Last year, the University of Evansville finished in fifth place. Several performances highlighted last year's championships. Senior diver Courtney Coverdale led the Aces with Evansville's first ever diving championship title with a 275.35 point finish on 1-Meter. Additionally, she came runner up on 3-Meter with 272.05 points. Her efforts earned her the title of MVC Diver of the Year. Coach Andy Brown was named Diving Coach of the Year as well.
Senior Danielle Freeman earned a runner-up placement in the 50 freestyle with a final time of 23.04. She went on to place 6
th in the 100 freestyle with a 50.82.
Junior Kristen Myers saw success in her events as well. In addition to earning a spot on the podium in the 100 and 200 butterfly, she also broke school records in both events.
On top of the successes these women earned last year, nearly every single swimmer managed to beat at least one career or lifetime best time.
