EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Evansville women's basketball team wraps-up a three-game homestand with a pair of matchups against Drake and UNI inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
The Aces fell to Indiana State on Friday night, 66-57, in Meeks Family Fieldhouse in Evansville's annual Play4Kay game. Having to battle through a string of injuries, the Aces were able to keep the Sycamores withing striking distance throughout the contest. Despite falling behind by 16 in the fourth quarter, Evansville trimmed Indiana State's lead to just seven with 3:07 left in the game before the Sycamores hit 10 of their 12 free throw attempts down the stretch to capture the 66-57 win.

A pair of upperclassmen have combined to help power the Aces this season. Junior guard Kerri Gasper has helped lead the Aces in a wide-variety of categories this season after averaging 9.3 points and 2.2 rebounds a season ago. The Olmsted Township, Ohio native currently leads the team in rebounding (5.5), assists (3.9), and steals (1.2). If Gasper ends the season leading Evansville in those categories, she would be the first Ace since Briyana Blair did so in the 2011-12 season. In her lone season with the Purple Aces, graduate guard Hannah Noe is having one of the best three-point shooting campaigns in program history. Noe has hit 54 triples this season, just one shy of placing her in a tie for 10th most in a season by an Ace. With at least nine games left in the season, Noe is on pace to finish with 81 three-pointers this season which would place her second in UE single-season history.
The Aces (3-18, 0-10 MVC) hit the midpoint of a three-game homestand on Friday with a matchup with Drake (16-7, 11-0 MVC). UE and the Bulldogs have met on 53 occassions with Drake owning a 39-14 advantage in the all-time series. The two sides last met on January 14, 2018 when Drake captured a 107-66 win over the Aces at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The Bulldogs enter Friday's game with a 16-7 overall record and an unblemished 11-0 mark in MVC action. Drake is currently riding an 11-game winning streak since starting MVC play and hasn't lost a conference game since February 26, 2016; a string of 33-straight MVC wins.
To wrap-up the homestand, Evansville hosts UNI on Sunday afternoon inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse. Sunday's matchup marks the 53rd all-time meeting between the two sides with the Panthers owning a 33-19 advantage in the all-time series. In the last meeting between the Aces and Panthers, UNI earned a 65-41 win over UE on January 12, 2018 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. UNI enters Sunday showdown with an 11-11 overall mark and a 7-4 tally in MVC play and is coming off a weekend split in which the Panthers fell to Missouri State, 57-52, before grabbing a 71-63 win over Southern Illinois.
