Aces, Panthers Finish With 0-0 Draw

10/5/2007 8:44:26 PM

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The good news is that the University of Evansville women's soccer team posted its third straight shutout Friday night.  The bad news is that Friday's shutout did not produce a victory.

Evansville and Northern Iowa played to a double-overtime 0-0 draw in the first Missouri Valley Conference match of the year for both teams.  Evansville outshot the Panthers 10-7, and put six shots on goal compared to five by UNI.  Freshman Theresa Bagby played all 110 minutes for the Aces and made five saves.  UE is now 7-2-2.  UNI is 3-5-2.

"I thought we were a little flat in the first half, but in the second half we did everything except put the ball in the back of the net," said UE coach Chris Pfau.  "Teams are dropping back their defenses against us, and we need to adjust to that."

Evansville plays again Friday afternoon at Indiana State before returning home on Sunday, Oct. 14 to play Missouri State.
