University of Evansville Athletic Training Department

The Master of Science in Athletic Training degree is designed for those who are seeking certification as an athletic trainer from the Board of Certification (BOC). The program is two years in length and open to students who do not possess a bachelor’s degree in athletic training.  The UE MSAT program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).  Click here for more information.

The University of Evansville Athletic Training Department works with athletes to prevent, assess, and rehabilitate injuries, as well as to provide acute and follow-up care to injured athletes. In addition to the care of physical injuries, the Athletic Training Department is an educational and informational resource for athletes concerning performance and wellness issues.

Eric Harcourt is the Head Athletic Trainer and  assisting him is Alison Adams, Dillon Hurst, Duke Wu, Elizabeth Huebner, Katie Coleman, and Tsuki Miyawaki.

The athletes at the University of Evansville are also afforded access to several excellent local medical care providers in Evansville including Tri-State Orthopaedics and Ascension St. Vincent. Orthopedic surgeons include: Dr. Andrew Saltzman and Dr. Zach Hamby of Tri-State Orthopaedics.  General medical physicians include: Dr. Chip Walsh, and Dr. Chad Perkins.  Pro-Rehab Physical Therapy also assists in providing rehabilitation services to the athletes. 

The athletic training facilities in Carson Center serve as the hub of activity for the injury care of student-athletes with an additional athletic training facility at the Ford Center.

In addition to providing health care to athletes at the University of Evansville, the athletic trainers on staff are involved in the Athletic Training Program. The staff serves as instructors and preceptors to students. The Master of Science in Athletic Training Program (MSAT) is housed in the School of Health Sciences. It is designed to provide didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction to students enrolled in the program.  The MS AT program is taught by Jeff Tilly, Erik Brown and Sue Laughbaum as SHS faculty and Alison Adams, Dillon Hurst, Eric Harcourt, Duke Wu, Elizabeth Huebner, Katie Coleman, and Tsuki Miyawaki as SHS instructors.
