RICHMOND, Ky. -- The University of Evansville outshot Eastern Kentucky 20-8, but host EKU came away with the 2-1 women's soccer victory Wednesday afternoon. The match ended the regular season for the 10-4-3 Aces, who play again Nov. 9 in the semifinal round of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at UE's Black Beauty Field. Evansville is the number two seed in the tourney, second only to regular season champion Illinois State.
Ashley Green of Eastern Kentucky opened the scoring in the first four minutes Wednesday before UE's Kaitlynn Radtke came off the bench to tie the match 1-1 with her second goal of the year at 31:52. Julie Winkler made the assist. The game-winner came at 48:02 when Alex Raich scored EKU's second goal. Theresa Bagby made three saves in goal for Evansville, while Eastern Kentucky's Stephanie Lynch stopped 11 of the 12 shots that UE put on goal.
