EVANSVILLE, Ind.--Mia Tofano has come on strong toward the end of the season, and she produced a happy Senior Night Friday for the University of Evansville women's soccer team.

The junior forward scored the only goal of the match at 67:07 to give the Aces a 1-0 win over Creighton, improving Evansville's overall record to 10-3-3 and its Missouri Valley Conference record to 3-1-2.  Creighton is 8-7-1 and 2-2-1.

Tonight's match was the final one in Missouri Valley Conference play for the Aces.  Regular season standings will be known Sunday when league play ends for all MVC teams.  The Aces play again Wednesday in the final game of the regular season, at Eastern Kentucky.

Tofano has scored four goals in the last five matches, and now has six on the season.  She took away a loose ball from a defender on the right side Friday, and rifled a rising shot into the top right corner past Creighton goalkeeper Kristen Casey for the only goal of the match.

It was the seventh shutout of the season for the Aces, who limited the Bluejays to only two shots on goal, compared to seven by the Aces.  Overall, Evansville got off 16 compared to 14 for Creighton.
