Kayla Lambert tallied two more goals and the Aces' soccer team won another home match.  Nothing new there.  As a result, the University of Evansville improved to 7-2-2 with its 4-0 victory over Indiana State Wednesday night at Black Beauty Field.

Lambert scored a pair for the second match in a row, and UE improved its home field record to 7-0-0.  The Aces remained unbeaten in the Missouri Valley Conference at 2-0-0.  Indiana State is now 2-8-0 and 1-1 in the MVC.

"Two of our goals this season are shutouts and winning games at home, and we got both of those done tonight," said UE Coach Krista McKendree. "We focused in practice this week on creating chances and playing quicker, and we did a good job with the limited space Indiana State was giving us."

Lambert's two goals moved her to within four points of Annie Wayland's Missouri Valley Conference record of 126 career points.  Kasey Kutzler and Mia Tofano set up Lambert with the first goal of the night at 32:02, a left-footer from 12 yards out that sailed over the head of Indiana State goalkeeper Taylor Nelson.  Tofano scored the second goal at 32:02, set up by Nicole Moyen's through ball that allowed Tofano to outrace ISU's defense. Lambert made it 3-0 at 46:16 when she rebounded her own shot off the post and booted it in for her 11th tally of the year.  Sophomore Susan McKinley ended the scoring at 83:44 with her first career goal, set up by Julie Winkler.

UE's defensive unit of goalkeeper Theresa Bagby, Kara Murphy, Katelyn Smith, Kasey Cartwright and Kutzler allowed Indiana State only eight shots, and Bagby made four saves.  It was the Aces' fourth shutout of the season.  Evansville took a total of 23 shots, with eight on goal.

While they're 7-0 at home, the Aces are 0-2-2 on the road, and they play their next two matches away from home--Sunday at Missouri State and October 10 at Drake.
