For the third time this season, University of Evansville forward Kayla Lambert is the Brine/Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Lambert tied the MVC career scoring record with one goal and two assists in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Northern Iowa, putting the Aces back into sole possession of first place in the league. Lambert now has 126 career points on 49 goals and 28 assists. That ties Illinois State’s Annie Wayland (1999-2002), who totaled her 126 points on 59 goals and eight assists.
Coach Krista McKendree's Aces have the opportunity to clinch a share of their first MVC regular season championship since 2000 by winning on Saturday at Creighton. Evansville is 10-3-2 overall and 4-1-0 in the league. The Aces have already guaranteed their fourth straight winning season, something that has never happened at UE even though Evansville won four MVC regular season titles and five MVC Tournament championships from 1996 to 2001.
