The University of Evansville women's soccer team has been perfect at home, but the Aces are still looking for their first victory away from Black Beauty Field. Now 7-0-0 at Black Beauty Field and 0-2-2 on the road, UE takes on 7-3-1 Missouri State in a Missouri Valley Conference match Sunday at 1:00 at Plaster Field in Springfield, Mo.
Evansville is already 2-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference, with a 4-1 win over Illinois State and a 4-0 victory over Indiana State. Sunday's match is Missouri State's first in the MVC. The Bears have won four in a row, and goalkeeper Jackie Jasper boasts a 0.74 goals-against average and a 0.855 save percentage, leading the conference in both categories. She'll be facing two of the league's top three scorers in senior forwards Kayla Lambert (11 goals, four assists for 26 points) and Mia Tofano (7-4-18). Lambert now has 48 goals and 26 assists for 122 career points. She needs just four points to tie the MVC all-time record for career points, set by Annie Wayland of Illinois State in 2002.
