INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Butler is a perfect 5-0 this season, and the Evansville Aces found out why on Saturday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs put four players into double figures offensively, and held the Aces to less than 40 percent shooting with a stingy defense that resulted in a 75-59 Butler victory in the 114th meeting between the two.  Evansville is now 3-1 heading into Tuesday's home game against SIU-Edwardsville.

The Aces trailed by only five at halftime, 35-30, but the Bulldogs quickly jumped in front 45-34 and upped the advantage to 59-43 halfway through the second half.

"Give Butler all the credit," said Evansville coach Marty Simmons.  "They played a complete game.  We knew how important the start of the second half was, but they came out and made big plays right away that made it tough for us to get back in the game.  The important thing is that our young guys learn from this game."

Butler's balanced attack was led by freshman guard Shelvin Mack with 18 points, and freshman forward Gordon Hayward with 12.  Sophomore forward Matt Howard added 11 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots, and sophomore guard Zach Hahn came off the bench to add 12.  Senior forward Shy Ely led the Aces with 12 points, sophomore guard Kavon Lacey scored nine, and seniors Nate Garner and Jason Holsinger added eight points each.  Freshmen James Haarsma and Denver Holmes added seven points each.

Butler forced the Aces into 17 turnovers, and held UE to 39.6 percent shooting in part because of eight blocked shots.
