EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville softball team hosted “Crowd the Coop” September 27 at Cooper Stadium. The event featured a softball tournament between UE, University of Southern Indiana, and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics Vanderburgh County.

With the money proceeds gained at the event, the UE softball team and coaches were able to present members of SOVC a check in the amount of $3500.

"I am thrilled and honored that we were able to help Special Olympics in our community,” said head coach Gwen Lewis, “I know that our players really enjoyed the event, and they are already looking forward to next fall.”
