Lisa Kawamoto has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Athlete of the Week following her performance at Western Kentucky last weekend.

Kawamoto (Lahainaluna / IndianapolisSouthport) has been an integral part of the Aces' roster since she arrived. Kawamoto led UE to a 6-1 victory over Western Kentcky last weekend with a win at No. 1 singles against WKU’s Erin Fulkerson. She also picked up a win at No. 2 doubles with partner Sara Wilhoite against Brittany Waiz and Krystal Brown.

The junior moved to number one singles this season after going 17-8 at No. 3 last season and the departure of seniors Brittany Brown and Beth Peyton. As a sophomore, Kawamoto finished with 42 combined victories, which is fifth best in UE history

Kawamoto is a junior from Lahaina, Hawaii and is majoring in communications.

Kawamoto and the Aces will try and extend their win streak this weekend when they will host Belmont University and Morehead State at Tri-State Athletic Club.
