Coming off a second place finish at the Tiger Invitational last weekend, the University of Evansville softball team will travel to Southaven, Miss. for the 2008 Memphis Softball Blues City Classic. Due to inclement weather, the team will depart Friday and begin play on Saturday. The tournament will feature six teams including Evansville, Memphis, Alabama A&M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Morehead State, and Southeast Missouri State.

Jacki Bradley, Jennifer McKee, and Krista Price were named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament team, leading the Aces to a 4-1 record last weekend. McKee picked up two complete game victories and just missed a no hitter against Furman. The Lady Palidans got an infield hit on a close play at first base. Bradley pitched a three-hitter against Marshall and had seven RBI on the weekend. Price had the only RBI in the Aces’ loss to Auburn and finished the weekend 6-for-15 with seven RBI.

The Aces as a team averaged five runs per game and just a little over four RBI per game. The Aces also picked up 39 hits in the tournament. Offensively, Cassey Kemna leads all hitters at the plate with a .450 average followed by Krista Price, who is batting .435 with eight RBI. McKee leads all pitchers with a 1.17 ERA and only allowing three runs on ten hits in 18 innings of work this season.

All games from the tournament will be available on Gametracker.  For a complete list of games, visit http://gotigersgo.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/spec-rel/mem-08-blues-classic.html.
