The University of Evansville tennis team dropped its Missouri Valley match to Drake on Saturday at Tri-State Athletic Club. The Bulldogs were able to win five singles matches en route to a 5-2 victory.
In doubles action, Kate Chybowski and Pin Sorensen picked up a win at No. 1 doubles. The duo defeated Veronika Leszayova and Sarah Plowman, 9-7. Riette Kotze and Stephanie Millis picked up a win for the Aces by default at No. 3 doubles.
The Aces dropped their first five singles matches, but Kotze picked up a team win by default. Irina Kalasnikova defated Chybowski, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Daria Zawislak defeated Sorensen, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the closest matches of the day.
The Aces will host Northern Iowa on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Tri-State Athletic Club.
