The Aces dropped their final home match of the season against Northern Iowa on Sunday at Tri-State Athletic Club. The Panthers rolled past the Aces, 6-1, to hand Evansville its fourth conference loss.
In singles action, Kate Chybowski picked up the Aces’ lone victory of the day, defeating Meghana Paritala, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2 singles. With the win, Chybowski moved into UE’s top-five for single season victories at 23.
The Aces dropped all three doubles matches to UNI. Chybowski and Pin Sorensen were defeated by Sampada Kanade and Diana Mendez, 8-6. Lisa Kawamoto and Sara Wilhoite fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-3, to Meghana Paritala and Taynara Moraes. Stephanie Millis and Allie Cox dropped a close match, 9-7, to Carolina Hannes and Laia Gonzalez-Garrido.
The Aces regular season will wrap up next weekend with three MVC matches. On Friday, the Aces will face off with Bradley at 2 p.m. The Aces will then take on Illinois State on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Indiana State on Sunday at 10 a.m.
