BLOOMINGTON, Ill.—The University of Evansville tennis team was defeated by Illinois State on Saturday at Evergreen Raquet Club. The Redbirds won five singles victories for a 5-1 win over the Aces.
In singles action, Stephanie Millis picked up the Aces’ lone win of the day, defeating Carmen Peters 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Freshmen Kate Chybowski and Pin Sorensen lost close matches at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Chybowski was edged by Julia Zubkova at No. 2 and Carolyne Parent outlasted Sorensen at No. 4.
The Aces and Bears were not able to complete their doubles matches due to lack of court time.
The Aces (12-10, 2-5) will finish their regular season at Indiana State on Sunday for a 9 a.m. Missouri Valley match.
