Due to heavy early morning rain in the Tri-State area and the anticipation of heavier rain and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening hours, Friday night’s baseball series opener between Evansville and Chicago State has been postponed. The four-game series will now consist of a pair of doubleheaders, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Each doubleheader will consist of a nine-inning game and a seven-inning game. UE will send sophomore LHP
Sean McCarthy (0-7, 6.57 ERA) and freshman RHP
Zach Taylor (2-4, 4.66 ERA) to the hill in Saturday’s doubleheader. Junior RHP
John Foley (3-4, 5.14 ERA) and sophomore RHP
Wade Kapteyn (0-3, 7.86 ERA) will get the starting nods in Sunday’s doubleheader.
Please note: due to the postponement of Friday night’s game, there will be no video streaming of the UE-Chicago State baseball series on-line this weekend. Aces’ All-Access will provide regularly-scheduled video streaming of UE’s Missouri Valley Conference softball series against Indiana State on both Saturday and Sunday.
