MOREHEAD, Ky.—The University of Evansville tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday over Georgetown College after losing a heartbreaker to Morehead State on Friday evening. The Aces swept Georgetown 7-0.

“Yesterday’s loss was tough,” said head coach Christine Bader. “We bounced back today and had a lot of good matches. I’m proud of our seniors for their leadership and the way all the girls carried themselves during the weekend.”

Sophomore Kate Chybowski continued her winning ways with a win over Adrienne Bartlett at number one singles and a win at number two doubles with partner Pin Sorensen. Sorensen also won her singles match over Megan Mars 6-0, 6-0. Seniors Allie Cox and Stephanie Millis had a strong showing with wins over Megan Watts and Jackie Cobb, respectively. The two teamed up to defeat Watts and Cobb at number three doubles by a score of 8-0. Newcomers Ashton Schwerin and Theadora Kotsiou each won their singles matches and together defeated Bartlett and Sarah Yost at number one doubles, 8-3.

The Aces will return to action February 6 when they travel to Austin Peay.
