EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Evansville first-year head coach Christine Bader has the first member of her signing class with the addition of high school standout Carolyn Caire. Caire signed a national letter of intent to play tennis at UE starting in the fall of 2009.
“Carolyn is not only a great tennis player, but also a wonderful person and comes from an amazing family,” said Bader. “Her positive attitude and great work ethic will bring a lot to our team. She is a true team player and will be a good representative for UE.”
Caire is a senior at Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tennessee. Caire served as a team captain during her junior campaign, playing at line one singles and doubles. She earned the team’s Most Valuable Player honors for her efforts during the season including a trip to the state quarterfinals in doubles. Caire was also a member of the 2008 State All-Tournament team in volleyball.
Caire will join the five returning players for the 2009-10 team.
