OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of Evansville turned away seven shots on goal by Creighton, but the one shot that found the back of the net also ended the Purple Aces' season Sunday afternoon.  Brittany Neumann's goal in the first two minutes of the second half held up to give the Bluejays a 1-0 win over Evansville in the quarterfinal round of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.

Creighton, the #3 seed, advances to Friday's semifinal match against #2 Missouri State with a 12-5-2 record.  Coach Krista McKendree's young UE squad finished 5-13.

Neumann's goal was set up by a corner kick from Erin Gunther that led to a shot from Claire Zach that was blocked.  Neumann was there for the rebound to score her seventh goal of the year and keep the host team for this week's MVC Tournament alive going into the semifinals.

Creighton finished with a 21-4 advantage in shots.  UE freshman goalkeeper Chaviel Harrison turned away seven of the eight.  Freshman forward Kristen Davis took three of the Aces' four shots.
