Coach Bader adds another recruit

Aces Tennis Signs Kelsey Costales

University of Evansville Women’s Tennis Head Coach Christine Bader announced Kelsey Costales has signed her national letter of intent to play for the Aces in the 2010-2011 academic year. 

Costales, a native of Long Beach, Cal. brings a plethora of national experience to the Aces. This past summer Kelsey played in three of four west coast Intercollegiate Tennis Association summer events. Her overall record for this year’s summer series was 9-7. At the Riviera event she played in the doubles final, and singles semi-final back draw. At Ventura she played in the doubles semi-final, and singles final back draw. This summer marked her fourth consecutive appearance at the ITA Summer Series. She was also a USTA Zonal Team Finalist in the 14 and 16 year age group and National Open Doubles Champion in 2007.

Costales played at Brethren Christian High School and was the team MVP both freshman and sophomore year along with being selected First Team All-League both seasons. California Interscholastic Federation singles tournament participant her freshman and sophomore seasons. Freshman year she lost to current Syracuse player Christina Tan and sophomore year lost to current USC player Alli Ramos.

Coach Bader on Kelsey, "I am thrilled to have Kelsey join our program next year. She will be a force to be reckoned with in our conference. Kelsey hits big, comes to the net and puts the ball away. Her results from Juniors and the ITA circuits are very impressive. She is great doubles player and will be a difference-maker for the Aces!"


Kelsey plans to major in public relations and advertising.
