FT. WAYNE, Ind.—The University of Evansville tennis team improved to 4-3 and completed a weekend sweep with a 7-0 victory over St. Francis Saturday night.
The Aces picked up the doubles point by sweeping St. Francis. Kate Chybowski and Theadora Kotsiou defeated Stephanie Rivera and Abigail Ball, 8-0, at number one doubles. Pin Sorensen and Ashton Schwerin defeated Devynn Sarver and Juliana Gustafson while Allie Cox and Stephanie Millis got the win at number three doubles over Maya Ranchod and Ashley Zalewski.
The Aces swept the six singles matches. Sorensen had a straight-set victory over Maya Ranchod at number three. Chybowski defeated Rivera at number one while Schwerin and Kotsiou defeated Sarver and Zalewski, respectively. Cox won over Brianna Mapes at number five and Millis rounded out the wins, defeating Gustafson at number six.
The Aces (4-3) will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for their spring break tournament. The team’s first opponent will be Niagara University at 2 p.m. on March 2.
