HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The University of Evansville tennis team kicked off its spring break schedule with a 6-1 win over Niagara University on Monday afternoon.
Niagara took the doubles point picked up wins at number two and three doubles. The duo of Kate Chybowski and Theadora Kotsiou picked up a win at number one doubles by defeating Hilary Hansen and Alyssa Lucas, 8-6.
The Aces swept the singles matches to secure the win. Chybowski defeated Hansen took a straight set win over Hansen at number one. Ashton Schwerin battled back in the third set to defeat Lucas. Kotsiou won over Raquel Solis, 6-4, 6-4 at number three. After falling behind in the first set, senior Allie Cox came back to defeat Emma Cunnington. Pin Sorensen and Stephanie Millis won their matches at number three and six singles, respectively.
The Aces (5-3) will continue with Western Carolina on Wednesday at noon in Hilton Head, S.C.
