INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The University of Evansville tennis team picked up its seventh win of the season with a 4-3 win over Butler on Saturday afternoon.
“It was nice to get the doubles point to kick off the match,” said head coach Christine Bader. “Then, to have a senior like Steph clinch the match for us was a great thing.”
The Aces took the doubles point by winning at number one and two doubles. Kate Chybowski and Theadora Kotsiou defeated Molly Casperson and Becky Jenkins 8-6 and Pin Sorensen and Ashton Schwerin defeated Natali Jaimes and Gabriella Bobrowski, 9-7.
The Aces took the match with three singles wins and had the match clinching point at number six singles by senior Stephanie Millis who defeated Valerie Vinluan. Chybowski picked up a win at number one single over Jaimes, and Kotsiou won over Casperson at number three singles to extend her singles win streak to nine matches.
The Aces (7-4) will return home to host Southern Illinois on Wednesday at Carson Center Courts in the first conference match of the spring season.
