University of Evansville women's soccer fans are invited to attend a pre-game dinner at Nick's English Hut (423 E. Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington) prior to Friday night's UE-Indiana University match at IU's Armstrong Stadium.

Coach
Krista McKendree's Aces go into Friday's match with a 1-0 record following Sunday's 1-0 victory at Southeast Missouri. It was the fifth consecutive year in which the Purple Aces have started the season with a victory. Indiana is also 1-0 going into Friday's match following a 2-0 victory last week over Wright State. The Hoosiers' head coach, Mick Lyon, was an All-America soccer player at UE and later became a three-time MVC Coach of the Year for the Aces' women's team before going to IU in 2002. Evansville is 0-2 against its former coach, losing 1-0 in 2006 and 4-0 in 2007.
Five newcomers were in Evansville's starting lineup Sunday, including all three forwards--
Kristen Davis,
Kaitlin Oldfield and
Dani Langness. Davis scored the lone goal of the match. Freshmen midfielders
Abby Guerra and
Olivia Robinson also started, joining six holdovers from UE's MVC championship team of 2008. Freshman
Chaviel Harrison took over in the second half for starter Theresa Bagby, and made seven saves and also assisted on Davis's goal.
