The University of Evansville women's soccer team's offensive struggles continued Friday night as Western Kentucky held off the Aces at Black Beauty Field, 1-0. It was the third shutout loss of the year for 1-4-0 UE.
Evansville did spend much of the second half in their offensive end of the field, with five of their six corner kicks and four of their six shots coming in the final 45 minutes. But the 4-1-0 Lady Toppers limited Evansville to only two shots on goal, both coming from freshman forward
Kristen Davis. The only goal of the match came in the first three minutes of the second half when Kellie Walker fed Megan Meinke down the left side. Meinke's shot from 10 yards out sailed just inside the far post and beyond the reach of UE keeper
Chaviel Harrison for the only tally of the match.
The Aces are back home Sunday to face 4-1-1 Middle Tennessee at 1:00.
