The University of Evansville tennis team earned its first win of the season Friday night versus IPFW at Tri-State Athletic Club with a 4-3 victory.
“I’m very excited to get our first win of the season,” said Evansville head coach Christine Bader. “I definitely saw some areas that we need to improve on, but there were a lot of impressive things that I saw from some of the girls during singles.
“I also want to thank the Friends of Aces Tennis who showed up at our reception. I was glad to see a good crowd of students, alumni and donors.”
The Purple Aces took an exciting doubles point from the Mastodons. The No. 3 doubles team of Aleksandra Dzakula and Carolyn Caire took a quick 8-2 win before the No. 2 doubles duo of Ashton Schwerin and Pin Sorensen fell 8-3.
