The offense is generating goals.  The defense produced another shutout.  Krista McKendree’s University of Evansville soccer team shouldn’t be overlooked as the regular season winds down and the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament approaches. 

Tonight, the Purple Aces try to make it two consecutive victories for the first time this season, against the 6-11-1 Loyola Chicago Ramblers in the Aces’ final non-conference match of the year.  The two teams have a pair of common opponents­-Creighton and Valparaiso.  Both lost to Creighton; Loyola topped Valpo 1-0 three weeks ago at Valparaiso.  Evansville and Valpo tied here at McCutchan Stadium on August 29, 1-1.

Theresa Elstone, Shayna Jones, Amanda Malone, Susan McKinley and Sara Ornelas will be honored on Sunday prior to the 1:00 kickoff against Northern Iowa on Senior Day.   A victory Sunday will go a long way toward assuring a spot for Evansville in the MVC Tournament that begins October 31.
