Due to an unresolvable scheduling conflict, the annual “Meet The Baseball Aces”event originally scheduled for Monday, February 15 has been moved back three weeks to Monday, March 8. The “Meet The Aces”will now take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 8 in Eykamp Hall Room A in UE’s William L. Ridgway University Center on campus and admission is free to the public.
The 2010 Purple Aces will be on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs at the “Meet The Aces” event, and there will be free schedule cards and posters for fans of all ages. Second-year head coach Wes Carroll will also talk about this year’s team, and introduce the 2010 Purple Aces. Season tickets will also be on sale at the event.
Evansville will host 30 home games this season at Charles H. Braun Stadium, including welcoming 2009 NCAA Tournament participants Wichita State, Louisville, Western Kentucky, and Indiana to town. Season tickets packages are currently on sale and begin at $25 for youth (17 and under), $45 for seniors (65 and over) and $75 for adults. Single-game tickets are also available at $7 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors.
The 2010 baseball season officially gets underway on Friday, February 19 at 3:00 p.m. as the Purple Aces will travel south to Nashville, Tennessee to battle Belmont in a three-game weekend series. UE will open its 30-game home schedule on Friday, March 12 by hosting Morehead State at 3:00 p.m. in the first round of the 2010 Dunn Hospitality Diamond Classic.
