EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Bradley University shot better than 60 percent in building a 28-point lead and cruised to an 83-63 victory Saturday over the University of Evansville. Bradley is 12-11 overall and 7-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Evansville dropped to 6-17 and 0-13.
Taylor Brown hit four of five shots and scored 11 points in the first half to help Bradley grab a 37-26 halftime lead. Brown and teammate Andrew Warren continued Bradley's dominance in the second half. Warren hit a three-pointer and followed with two free throws to give the Braves a 52-31 lead with 14:21 to go, and Bradley eventually upped the advantage to 62-34 with more than 11 minutes to play. Warren hit seven of his 10 shots on his way to a game-high 22 points and Brown connected on eight of 11 for 21 points. Guard Sam Maniscalco scored 15 points on 5-for-7 shooting. The Braves ended up hitting 30 of 48 shots for 62.5 percent.
Colt Ryan scored 17 points and James Haarsma added 13 for Evansville, which connected on 23 of 55 shots for 41.8 percent.
"We had been making good progress in different areas the last two games, but that certainly was not the case today," said Coach Marty Simmons. "Don't take anything away from Bradley. They played very well, but we did not come with the effort necessary to compete."
The Aces return to Roberts Stadium Tuesday night for a 7:05 game against 19-game winner Wichita State.
