• CollegeBaseball360.com's Primetime Performers For Week 4

University of Evansville freshman shortstop Eric Stamets (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) was honored on Wednesday by the collegiate baseball website, CollegeBaseball360.com, for his efforts during UE’s 8-4 victory at nationally-ranked Kentucky last week, as Stamets was named to the website’s “Primetime Performer Honor Roll” for the fourth week of the season.

Stamets was one of 21 players from across the country to be named to CollegeBaseball360.com’s “Primetime Performer Honor Roll” for week four, including being just one of two freshmen to make the honor roll.  To earn “Primetime Performer” honors, a player must have played for or against a CB360 top-50 team, had a “clutch performance,” or achieved a rare accomplishment or overcome adversity or extreme circumstances.

Stamets was named to the honor roll after helping Evansville to an 8-4 victory at No. 21 Kentucky last Wednesday.  In the contest, Stamets went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs scored, two RBI, and two stolen bases against the Wildcats.  On the season, Stamets has hit .300 for the Purple Aces, while tying for the team lead with eight doubles and leading both UE and the Missouri Valley Conference in stolen bases with 14 in 14 attempts.  He has also committed just four errors in 90 chances defensively in the field through 17 games, while leading UE with 70 defensive assists.

Stamets and the Purple Aces will return to the diamond within the hour, as UE is currently getting set to take on Saint Louis University in a non-conference contest slated for 3:00 p.m. central time.
