Aces Power Too Much For Bradley

4/2/2010 6:45:41 PM

PEORIA, Ill. - The University of Evansville tennis team swept the doubles matches and never looked back against Missouri Valley Conference foe Bradley University Friday. The Aces gave up only five total games in the three doubles matches, and the momentum carried over into singles play as coach Christine Bader's squad earned a 6-1 victory.

Singles winners for the Aces were Kate Chybowski, Pin Sorensen, Ashton Schwerin, Aleksandra Dzakula, and Carolyn Caire. At #3 singles Pin Sorensen won the first set easily, but the second set was tougher to capture. With the score tied at six games apiece, they moved to a tiebreak. After a 2-2 tiebreaker score, Sorensen's power groundstrokes wore down Bradley’s Kelly Donohue. Sorensen won the match 6-2, 7-6 (4).

The Aces continue their road trip with a match against Illinois State tomorrow at 1pm in Bloomington-Normal, Ill.
