Due to over-scheduling on the part of the Western Kentucky University baseball program this spring, the upcoming home-and-home baseball series between the University of Evansville at WKU has been cancelled. The series was originally scheduled to be played Tuesday, April 27 in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Wednesday, May 5 in Evansville.
Western Kentucky originally scheduled 59 games this spring thinking that weather problems would create openings in their schedule. However, the Hilltoppers have not had a game cancelled this year due to weather, forcing the cancellation of the UE home-and-home series.
In order to make up for one of the Western Kentucky games, Evansville has added a home game against Oakland City University on Tuesday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m. UE is also trying to add an additional 56th game, however, no game has been set as of April 21.
Evansville will return to the diamond this weekend by hosting Bradley in a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series at Charles H.?Braun Stadium in Evansville. The series will begin on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and continue on both Saturday (2:00 p.m.) and Sunday (1:00 p.m.) afternoon. Evansville will bring a 21-16 overall record into this weekend’s series, as UE has won six games in a row, eight out of the last nine games, and 18 of the last 25 games overall.
