St. Louis- The University of Evansville Women’s tennis team has placed two student-athletes on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-athlete team this year.  Junior Kate Chybowski and sophomore Aleksandra Dzakula were named to the first team along with eight other valley student-athletes. Chybowski repeats as a first team selection, while Dzakula was named to the scholar-athlete for the first time.

Named first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete in 2009…ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2008 and 2009…MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award for 2009…Currently holds a singles record of 26-6 and 16-2 at No. 1 for the spring…Has 5-2 MVC record winning eight out of her last 10 matches… Won the Flight A singles at the Aces Fall Classic and IPFW Invitational in the fall…Went 1-1 in singles and doubles at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Tournament, advancing to the round of 16 in doubles…At No. 1 doubles with partner Dora Kotsiou holds a 18-9 record and won the Flight 1 doubles at the Aces Fall Classic and IPFW Invitational…20-10 doubles record… 11-6 Spring doubles record, 2-5 in MVC at No. 1 doubles… Has been selected the UE Student-Athlete of the Week three times…Named the MVC Tennis Player of the Week for February 23rd
