University of Evansville head coach Wes Carroll has announced that next Tuesday’s game (May 11) against Austin Peay State University will now be a doubleheader between the two teams at UE’s Charles H. Braun Stadium.  The Purple Aces and Governors will now play two seven-inning games beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Originally, UE and Austin Peay were scheduled to play a single, nine-inning game at 6:00 p.m. at Charles H. Braun Stadium on Tuesday, May 11.  But, after UE had two games canceled earlier in the year and Austin Peay lost this past weekend’s series with Morehead State due to the heavy rains and flooding which pounded Tennessee, the two schools decided to add an extra game to the schedule and play the doubleheader.

Evansville (24-20 overall, 5-7 MVC) will return to the diamond tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m., as the Purple Aces will welcome long-time in-state rival Indiana State (29-13, 8-6 MVC) to town for a three-game weekend series.  All three games can be heard live on 91.5 F.M.-WUEV.
