CHARLESTON, Ill. -- A penalty kick in overtime produced the only goal Sunday afternoon in Eastern Illinois University's 1-0 women's soccer victory over the University of Evansville.

Forward Kristin Germann scored the golden goal at 94:47, ending an outstanding effort by the Purple Aces' defense and in particular goalkeeper Chaviel Harrison.  The sophomore from Murietta, Cal. turned away five shots on goal before Germann's perfectly placed PK won the match for the 2-0 Panthers, who began the season Friday with a 2-0 win over IUPUI.

Eastern Illinois had the advantage in shots, 14-4.  Kristen Davis, Breanna Beine, Stephanie Thompson and Kasey Cartwright had the shots for Evansville.

Now 0-2, the Aces have a week off before hosting Valparaiso next Sunday at McCutchan Stadium at 1:00.
