LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Natalie Horner scored the only goal of the match on a header in the 18th minute here Wednesday night as the regionally ranked University of Kentucky Wildcats defeated the University of Evansville 1-0.
Evansville goalkeeper Chaviel Harrison turned away eight shots, giving up only the goal from Horner following a corner kick from Taylor Parker. The Aces were held to two shots, by Olivia Robinson and Vanessa Legault-Cordisco. Kentucky, now 5-2-0, is ranked fifth in the South Region this week by the NSCAA.
Wednesday's match completed a four-game road trip for 1-5-1 UE, which comes home Friday to play Xavier at 5:00. The UE men play the second half of the doubleheader at 7:30, also against Xavier.
