The University of Evansville volleyball team travels to the University of Tennessee Martin to take on the Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. tonight.
The Aces (5-1) are coming off a 3-0 showing at the Troy Spiketacular this past weekend. The Aces posted sweeps over McNeese State and Troy as well as a 3-1 victory over Western Illinois.
Junior Brooke Maher had a standout weekend as she led the Aces to the tournament championship. Maher tallied 49 kills, 31 digs and four service aces on the weekend. She also recorded her second and third double-double of the season, posting 15 kills and 10 digs over McNeese State and 12 kills and 12 digs over Troy.
Senior Emily Wandersee leads the team with 64 kills on the season. Wandersee and junior Kaisi Nixon have both recorded 18 blocks to set the team-high. Junior April Lubrecht continues to be a dominant defensive force, averaging 3.72 digs per set.
UT Martin enters the match with a 2-4 record after winning its first two matches of the season against Citadel and Presbyterian last weekend at the Mercer Bear Brawl Classic. Sophomore outside hitter Kelly Hogan leads the Skyhawks with 53 kills. Junior Britany Wilburn is second in kills with 46 and leads the team in blocking with 12.
