TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- To say that the Aces 'jahred' Indiana State Wednesday night would be putting it mildly.  Down by 17 points late in the first half, the University of Evansville rode the 16 points and 14 rebounds of freshman Jordan Jahr to a 66-63 victory over the Sycamores.

Evansville is 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference going into Saturday's home game against Southern Illinois at 7:05.  Indiana State is now 12-9 and 7-3.

The Sycamores led by 17 late in the first half, 39-22, and took a 39-27 lead into halftime.  They still led 44-31 with 17:07 remaining before the Aces started chipping away behind Jahr, Lewis Jones and Kavon Lacey.  The big comeback came even though leading scorer Colt Ryan was in foul trouble much of the night and finished with just two points.

"We tell the players a phrase that coach (Jim) Crews used to say, 'You never know when it's going to be your time to shine,'" UE coach Marty Simmons said.  "Jordan's been practicing better and it's really carried over into the last couple games.  Lewis didn't even play against Bradley Sunday, but he came off the bench and gave us a big lift.  We needed big games from guys off the bench, and we got it."

Jones hit all three of his shots and finished with six points.  Lacey totaled 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Denver Holmes added 15 points.  Carl Richard led the Sycamores with 20.  In both games this season against Indiana State, Evansville came from 17 points down to win the game.  It was the sixth consecutive year in which one of these teams has swept the season series.  The Aces have won both in four of the last six years.
