EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women’s soccer team hits the road to Waterloo, taking on the University of Northern Iowa Saturday at 2:00 p.m. CT. The contest marks the Purple Aces’ second of three straight Missouri Valley Conference away matches.
HISTORY LESSON
In their last meeting with the Panthers, Evansville clinched a berth to the 2010 MVC Tournament with a 4-1 victory at home on Oct. 24, 2010.

Northern Iowa comes off two straight victories over Cal State Bakersfield (3-1) and Indiana State (2-0). Ashley Capone (4g, 2a, 10pts), Claire Clark (3g, 0a, 6pts), and Missy Journot (1g, 3a, 5pts) lead the Panthers’ offense. Goalkeepers Erin Zaideman (1.29 GAA, 25SV, 2-3-1) and Lauren Potzman (1.46 GAA, 39SV, 3-4-1) have each played eight matches is goal, combining for three shutouts this fall.

Sophomores
Kaitlin Robinett (3g, 2a, 8pts),
Stephanie Thompson (3g, 1a, 7pts), and
Tasha Prentice (2g, 3a, 7pts), have scored a combined eight goals and tallied six assists, leading Evansville’s offense. Goalkeeper
Chaviel Harrison has played every minute for the Purple Aces with a 2.01 GAA, 93 saves, a .756 save percentage and two shutouts.
Quick Notes…
Harrison recorded eight saves in UE’s, 3-1, loss at Illinois State. She now has 93 saves on the year, ranking her second in the MVC. With four matches remaining in the regular season, Harrison has the opportunity to break her own school record of 116 saves in a single-season, set in 2010.
Sophomore
Breana Beine scored her first goal of the season last Sunday. Beine found the back of the net on a breakaway late in the match, preventing the Redbird shutout. Beine was the MVC Freshman of the Year in 2010 and a first-team all-conference selection.
