IF YOU GO
The match marks ISU's Pink Night at Memorial Stadium, in collaboration with the Wabash Valley's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation. Fans who wear pink will receive free admission.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES (3-12-0, 0-4 MVC)
Currently on an eight-game skid, Indiana State is in search of its first win since Sept. 9, when the Sycamores topped Murray State, 2-0. Most recently, ISU fell to Illinois State, 4-1 on Oct. 14. Natalie Vaught and Seyma Erenli lead the Sycamores’ offense with two goals apiece. Emily Lahay has played the majority of the minutes in net, owning a 2.02 GAA, 61 saves, .726 save percentage, and 3-9 record.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE ACES (1-10-4, 0-3 MVC)
Sophomores
Kaitlin Robinett (3g, 2a, 8pts),
Stephanie Thompson (3g, 1a, 7pts), and
Tasha Prentice (2g, 3a, 7pts), have scored a combined eight goals and tallied six assists, leading Evansville’s offense. Goalkeeper
Chaviel Harrison has played every minute for the Purple Aces with a 1.95 GAA, 102 saves, a .767 save percentage and two shutouts.
RECORD SAVES
Harrison recorded nine saves in UE’s, 1-0, loss at Northern Iowa last Saturday. With 102 saves on the year, she ranks first in the MVC and is just 15 saves away from breaking her own school record of 116 saves in a single-season, set in 2010. Averaging 6.8 saves per game, also first in the conference, Harrison has a definite shot at breaking the record with three matches left in the regular season.
ABBY’S COMING BACK!
A year and three months after surviving a fatal car accident,
Abby Guerra will be reunited with her Evansville family next Thursday, Oct. 27 when the Aces take on Missouri State in the last match of the regular season.
On July 18, 2010, Guerra and four friends were returning home to Arizona from an outing at Disneyland in southern California when a tire blew out on their vehicle, it rolled over, and two of Guerra's friends were killed. In fact, it was first believed that Guerra was one of those who had died. Her life remained in jeopardy for several days. Many medical procedures followed, and Guerra, who was a starter for the Aces as a freshman in 2009, and was fourth on the team in goals scored (2) and total points (5), spent three months following the accident under hospital care.
However, the Aces’ midfielder has shown remarkable spirit, determination, and progress and she is ready to make her first journey back to Evansville since the incident.
