Former Ace Jamey Carroll Agrees To Two-Year Deal With Minnesota Twins

EVANSVILLE, Ind.— Former University of Evansville All-American Jamey Carroll has agreed to a two-year deal with the Minnesota Twins.
 
Carroll is a 10-year Major League veteran who has played with the Expos, Nationals, Rockies, Indians and the last two seasons with the Dodgers. In 2011, he batted .290 with a .359 on-base percentage and .347 slugging percentage in 146 games. He also stole 10 bases without getting caught.
 
In his Major League career, Carroll is a .278/.356/.347 hitter and hasn't posted an on-base percentage lower than .346 since 2007.
 
Carroll excelled on the diamond at UE from 1994-96, earning all-Missouri Valley Conference, all-region, and All-America honors at shortstop in 1996. Carroll currently ranks among UE’s career leaders in batting average (5th-.348), hits (10th-236), runs scored (10th-150), triples (7th-12), and stolen bases (7th-68). He was inducted into the UE Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005 and was named to the Missouri Valley Conference’s All-Centennial team in 2007. Jamey Carroll is the older brother of current UE baseball head coach Wes Carroll.
