INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Kate Chybowski moved into a tie with Karen Black Saturday for the most singles victories in University of Evansville tennis history, and she's now just one victory away from Black's record for total victories.
Chybowski won at number one singles and number one doubles in Saturday's 5-2 loss at Butler. She is now 97-28 in singles, and 172-72 in total victories, including singles and doubles. Black set both records in 1999, with 97 singles wins and 173 total victories.
"It was a great day for Kate, and Aleks (Dzakula) played very well for us," said coach Nick Mueller, whose team is now 5-3 in dual matches since beginning the spring season. "We had some opportunities we didn't take advantage of, but tomorrow we'll try to rectify that."
The Aces play at IUPUI Sunday at 3:00 CST.
