VINCENNES, Ind. -- Despite windy and cold conditions, the University of Evansville's Lauren Zeabart continued her undefeated season Saturday at the Bill Smith Open. For the second week in a row, Zeabart finished first in the 5,000-meter run, this time in 18:37.47. Teammate Kelby Jenkins finished second in the 5K, in 19:14.
Also for the Aces at the Bill Smith Open:
Melissa Truex finished third in the 800-meter run and sixth in the 1500.
Lauren Schaftlein was fourth in the 800.
Nicole Kruezman was sixth in the 800 and seventh in the 1500.
Shelby Cron finished seventh in the 800 and 12th in the 1500.
Jackie Carlson finished 10th in the 800 and 16th in the 1500.
Tailae Yeung finished 18th in the 1500.
The next meet for coach Don Walters' team will take place at Washington University in St. Louis April 1-2.
