MURRAY, Ky. – Evansville scored a pair of goals in a span of two minutes while
Chaviel Harrison made three saves as the Purple Aces women’s soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout at Murray State on Sunday afternoon.
The Aces notched 19 shots with nine being on goal while limiting Murray State to just seven shots and three on goal.
Evansville put an offensive onslaught onto the Racers, registering six shots in the opening 24 minutes. Those efforts paid off as UE recorded a pair of goals in a span of less than two minutes.
At the 24:55 mark of the opening stanza,
Kayla Smith notched her first goal of the season, scoring unassisted. They kept the momentum going as less than two minutes later,

Kristen Davis, whose shot found the back of the net to give the Aces a 2-0 advantage.
Defense took over at that point as the pair of goals proved to be the difference in the shutout win.
Freshman Abby Springer led all players with five shots while tallying an assist. Kasey Cartwright registered four shots while Stephanie Thompson finished the match with three.
Next weekend, the Aces will be back in action with a pair of road matches, beginning Friday at Belmont before the travel to Purdue on Sunday afternoon.
