Day One Results

RICHMOND, Ky. – At the opening day of the Eastern Kentucky Fall Invitational, the Purple Aces women's tennis team took four out of six matches against the host Colonels.
 
Doubles play was a strong point for UE as they took both efforts.  Marina Moreno and Mina Milovic earned an 8-5 win over Kristina Labeja and Marcela Jimenez.  Natasha James and Marketa Trousilova took down the duo of Saioa Oscoz and Carmen Rodriguez, 8-5.
 
Four singles matches were played with Evansville splitting.  Trousilova took a win over Oscoz, 6-2, 5-7, 10-6 while Kelsey Costales earned a win over Jimenez, 6-2, 6-2.
 
At top singles, Labeja dealt James a defeat, 7-5, 6-2 while Milovic took the loss in the third spot to Rodriguez, 6-4, 6-1.
 
The teams will be back in action on Saturday morning.
