FULL MVC RELEASE

ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville junior Taylor Brand was named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week in an announcement made by the league office Tuesday afternoon.  The selection marks the fifth MVC Defensive Player of the Week honor for Brand this season.
 
Brand led Evansville's defense to a shutout of Missouri State last Saturday, as the Purple Aces' back line limited the visiting Bears to just four shots goal.  The Greenfield, Ind., native was the center back on a defensive unit that held MSU without a shot on goal for the first 45 minutes and successfully defended four shots on goal the rest of the contest.  With the shutout, Evansville lowered its goals against average to 0.51 and tallied its sixth clean sheet.
 
The Aces will be on the road Wednesday night, when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind., for a MVC tilt with in-state rival Indiana State.  Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
