EVANSVILLE, Ind. – With a pair of weekend home matches ahead, the Purple Aces women’s tennis team will have a midweek tune-up as they travel to Murray State on Wednesday.

The Aces and Racers will square off at 1 p.m. at Kenlake State Park.  Evansville enters the match with a mark of 3-4.

Over the weekend, Evansville dropped a hard-fought match on the road at Butler.  Marina Moreno earned the second win of her freshman career, taking a singles triumph over Konstantina Adami by a 6-0, 7-5 final.

Kelsey Costales picked up a win at No. 6 singles as her 6-3, 6-0 effort downed Sienna Reuter.  Evansville started the night off with a doubles win as the teams of Natasha James and Marketa Trousilova along with Gaby Fifer and Emily Richardson picked up the wins.

Murray State has played just three matches thus far, going 1-2 to begin the season.  The Racers opened up with a 5-2 win over Lindsey Wilson on Feb. 3 before dropping its next two.  MSU lost by a 4-1 final at Central Arkansas before falling, 6-1, at home to Southern Illinois.

Erin Patton and Megan Blue have each gone 2-1 to begin the spring.  Patton is picking up right where she left off in the fall as she was 6-3 in tournament action.

Evansville returns to the Tri-State Athletic Club this weekend as they will play host to SIU Edwardsville on Friday before facing UT-Martin on Saturday evening.  Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.
