ST. LOUIS – Already off to a 4-0 start in singles action, University of Evansville women’s tennis player Marketa Trousilova was named Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
 
In just her second weekend competing with the Purple Aces, the Kansas State transfer has made an immediate impact. She is a perfect 4-0 in singles play while going 2-2 in doubles action.
 
Her contribution this weekend began as she topped Kristine Lindal of IPFW (5-7, 6-4, 6-1) in No. 3 singles before picking up a win in No. 1 doubles with partner Natasha James. They defeated Anita Henestrosa and Caterina Kiefer, 8-6.
 
Trousilova’s success continued on Sunday at Bowling Green with her fourth consecutive singles win as she made her way past Maddy Eccleston, 7-5, 6-3.
 
Along with her teammates, Trousilova is set for the home opener on Saturday evening at Tri-State Athletic Club.
