DES MOINES, Iowa – Marketa Trousilova and Natasha James each won their doubles and singles matches, but Drake took doubles before winning three singles outings on their way to a 4-3 win over the Purple Aces women’s tennis team on Sunday afternoon.
 
James and Trousilova took an 8-6 win in top doubles as they defeated Jordan Eggleston and Klavdija Rebol.  Drake (10-9, 3-2 MVC) rallied in the final two flights to take the early 1-0 lead over the Aces (8-9, 2-3 MVC).  Kelsey Costales and Marina Moreno were defeated by Nell Boyd and Evy Van Genechten, 8-6 while Gaby Fifer and Emily Richardson fell by an 8-3 final to Mariel Ante and Ali Patterson.
 
At top singles, James was victorious over Rebol, 6-1, 6-0 while Trousilova remained undefeated in MVC singles with her win over Van Genechten, 4-6, 3-3 (ret.).  Moreno topped Lea Kozulic in the third group, 7-6, 7-6 to go 2-0 in singles over the weekend.
 
Flight No. 4 saw Fifer fall to Boyd, 6-1, 6-0 while Mina Milovic was defeated by Eggleston, 6-0, 6-1.  Ante picked up the win at flight six over Costales, 6-3, 6-4.
 
Next up for UE is a quick trip across town to face USI on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.  The Aces wrap up the regular season next weekend as they face Wichita State on Saturday at 1 p.m. before taking on Creighton beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.
